- I started in direct marketing at age 15 by placing classified ads in a newsprint magazine called "Deals on Wheels". I placed an ad which promoted free information (sales letter) for a book I wrote about how to buy cars at government auctions. In my twenties I started what became a 7 figure company selling business opportunity books based on the same model, but this time including newspapers, magazines and bit of radio. I opened up retail and internet video game stores starting in 1995.
